Volume 27 Chapter 2

The Potter

Weed next entered the caves of the elves which was warmer than it should have been given that the cave was deep underground. Clear water was flowing and flowers and trees were growing thickly in the cave.

You have seen the Elven Montvertruria Garden
(The elves created the garden by sowing seeds!)
When hunting was bad the garden was an important food supply for the four races.
Even after the four races left thanks to the blessings of nutrients the garden flourished and grew.
-Due to being the first to see the garden all stats increase by 6
-Luck increases by 7
-Spirit Affinity increases by 3%

Weed brushed away the vines draping from the trees and saw a pond in the center of the cave. The plants growing in the pond shown like emeralds. A lonesome aura seemed to waft from the trees and flowers that had been left untouched for years, the trees and flowers were lush and thickly spread and the trees had grown high enough to reach the ceiling. The fruits fell and, without anyone to eat the ripe fruits, decayed silently upon the ground.
"How regrettable that these fruits went to waste"
Just in case Weed, with the hope of acquiring rare or new japtem, had left ample space in his bag to hold any items he might have found. Weed picked the fruits and seeds and put them into his bag, thinking that they may be useful later on.
"Since its an Elven Garden even if I planted these in Morata nothing bad would happen"
While diligently collecting the items, suddenly the flowers and trees shook and a mysterious dark fragrance permeated the air.

Ttiring!

The flowers and trees welcome visitors
These plants which have been in one place for so long seek fresh air, water and sunlight.
If planted above ground and safely grown then you will receive the reward of the trees.

I was going to take them either way, but to welcome me was unnecessary! Weed took out an ax from his pack.
"I don't know whether to use this to make a table, chair, or something else."
I was going to take just roots, but I dug up the ground and took out the roots and dirt along with the flowers as well. Old Elf Wood is valuable building material and are high quality goods. The best Old Elf Wood that have been dried out by the sun are the best materials for sculpting. If a live tree is planted in fertile soil then it would grow into a big tree. In the Elven Garden there was a wide variety of flowers, and trees but many of them were common and only 7 seeds were special.

"Identify!"

Brond Tree Seeds  : Durability 1/1
A tree that emits a fragrance highly liked by the elves. Once grown to 2m in height then the tree will bear sweet fruits, and the leaves can be used as medicine. The tree has clear spirit and so grows well in unpolluted land.

Snowflake Flower Seeds : Durability 1/1
Such small seeds that you can't catch them with your hands. Easy to grow in soil, best to plant slightly in soil not deeply. Like a snowflake it is white and the flower blooms quickly.

Jackal Tree Branch : Durability 22/22
Solid wood, like steel. Growth speed is fast and excellent. Flowers bloom in spring but bears no fruits.

 Pierudd Tree : Durability 10/10
A hollow tree. Can become a habitat for small animals. If a dense forest is made then animal fertility will rise.

It wouldn't be bad to make a flower garden or forest in Morata and Vergo Castle.
"I need to make other tourist attractions than just my sculptures, couples need a place to go on a date so they can spend more money."
Items and goods can be overpriced in Morata and Vergo Castle in the future.
Older people especially like forests, mountains, and valleys. The rugged mountains lining Vergo Castle can become a potential tourist site in that respect. Since the scenery changes from spring, summer, autumn, and winter people can enjoy the scenery year round.
Especially now since renovations were being made to the fort day by day, and new and nicer accommodations and homes were being made. Weed's only problem was that it was dangerous outside the fort. Beginners, while following trails and paths, who meet new monsters usually die without being able to run away.
"I guess this is enough"
Weed stuffed the seeds, trees, and fruits into his bags. Because there were so many items Weed filled 45 bags with the japtem.
"Since there are caves still left and because I haven't went to the human caves I can just fill the rest of my bag space with japtem from the other caves."
Weed went into the next cave.
In the caves that the humans had lived in Weed found a large number of paintings and sculptures. Since in the past humans did not have good tools the first arts were crude. Dwarves could have made better quality arts due to their high dexterity, but the dwarves instead made practical and durable items such as equipment and weapons because the dwarves valued such practical and strong stuff like that. And so it was the humans that first made beautiful art instead of the dwarves. Baked clay bowls, clay figurines, and sculptures of gods were visible. The ceiling and walls were also covered with paintings. As if to show the harmonious era during the time the paintings were filled with elves, dwarves, orcs and humans.
